Belted jacket dress

I purchased this dress online with huge expectations. In saying that the dress ran large on me and I took it to my seamstress for altering. She said the workmanship was very poor and hoped I hadn't paid much for it. I needed the seams in the shoulders raised which it turn took the waist up and it felt like an empire waist dress. Also had a lining put in the skirt of the dress as the material was just too flimsy. Love the jacket. Very poor quality for Coldwater Creek:)

I bought this dress in red for a Christmas party. I usually wear a size 12, though size 14 had a better fit. Dress this up with some pearls and you are ready to go.The belt is not black on the red dress but the belt buckle is. I did not feel the fabric was thin at all. I love this dress1 Very flattering and I love the idea that you can dress this up or down for any occassion. Enjoy!

Runs 1-2 sizes smaill.Poor quality. Thin material. Disappointed. Not Coldwater Creek quality.

Interesting mixed reviews. I bought this jacket dress in red and found that it fits me perfectly. I had recently returned another red dress that was very sexy but not very flattering for my shape, so when I saw this one online, I jumped on it and I'm glad I did. I also found the dress to be quite versatile. I recently wore it with a black jacket & red, black, and white print silk scarf and got lots of compliments. Guess this is one of those dresses that either really flatters you or doesn't work it all. Worked for me!

I should have read the other reviews before ordering this. I generally wear a size 14 - ordered a 16 to make sure it fit over "the girls" -- not even close. For the price, I expected better from Coldwater Creek. Returning it asap.

This jacket dress is a great classic style, but the length is MUCH too short. I'm 5'4" and I normally wear petites, so I was hoping that if I went with the regular misses size, it would be okay, but a total length of 34" (in the misses size!) is much too short for me; I prefer at least 38", although if I really like the dress, I'll go as short as 36". However, if you don't mind your skirt hitting 2-3 inches above the knee, you'll probably love this outfit.

i ordered in red. I usually wear a 16 in dresses simply because I am large-busted. I tried to get this to work, even without a bra and it was about 3" too small! Was really sorry I had to take it back. So many sizing issues lately.

I am a tall women but I am not long waisted. I have never had a problem with the waist on dresses being too high until this dress. The belt hit me 1 and a half inches ABOVE my natural waist and threw off the hip and length fit. Back it went, and I will not order dresses again.

Read other reviews before purchasing. Ordered the red, lovely dress BUT yes I find it a little short also. I usually wear a 10 but reordered in a 12 to gain oneforth inch more length. I am 5.2 and the size 12 hits right below my knee. I think it's a keeper...it is a well made dress and jacket and the color is beautiful!

I am a plus size woman. I bought the dress in red. It is almost perfect. The material stretches a little so it is forgiving when I sit. (The true plus size test.) I am surprised at reports that it runs small and short. I am 5'3" and I will definitely need to hem it. The dress feels a little loser than the jacket, but overall I like the fit. I love the belt and the neckline. Very flattering dress.
