Empire mesh dress

I received this dress yesterday, and was really dissappointed. It is very dark, not the pretty blue shown, but a black navy, and runs really small. I just got another dress in 14 and it fits fine, this is a 16 and it was really tight and the shoulders and arms. I could accept the dark color if it wasn't so tight, and of course they don't have it in the next size larger!

As others have noted, the color is much darker than pictured. The dress I received hangs oddly in the back - I think I can fix it but I would rather not have to do that. The sleeves were also tight at the bottom - it would have been better if the hem had some stretch in it. I may try to line the sleeves because they do look a little strange with the color of the dress so dark. If I hadn't gotten this on sale it would be going back.

This is a beautiful dress, and the day I wore it with tall boots, the compliments did not stop coming. The colors though are much darker, making this a very smokey dress....very pretty drape and fit. Thank you CWC

I just got the dress, tried it on, and there is nothing wrong it. There is also no reason that this dress would not be appropriate for an office setting or wedding if worn with a shrug and the right shoes. And while the photo might not show the length of the sleeves it shows quite clearly that they are sheer. A shrug or cardigan could easily take care of that. I am 5 ft 5 in and the dress falls about an inch and a half below my knees. It has an empire waste from which the rest of the dress flows rather femininely.

The description leaves out some important elements; the sleeves are three quarter length and very sheer. Not a practical dress for a career look. I agree with the previous reviewer that the color is also much darker than was anticipated.

This dress is even darker than I expected, I had hoped for lighter with more teal colours. The neck is quite closed in and high. It was a bit short on my 5'6" height and would look nicer if it was a few inches longer. I had hoped to wear it to a winter wedding, but definitely too dark and too short. If you are looking for a comfortable dress for everyday, in a dark look, this would work. It just wasn't right for a wedding at all.
