Serving our Community
Making a meaningful difference: The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
At Coldwater Creek, more and more of us have found our lives touched by women with breast cancer – our families, our friends, our co-workers and our customers. We are passionate about the need to find a cure for breast cancer. That's why we are enthusiastically supporting the Komen Race for the Cure® as a National Series Sponsor. It is our opportunity to give something back to the many women who have supported us...to give back to our Coldwater Creek family.
Encouraging renewable energy
On August 1, 2006, we began powering our operation companywide with 100% wind energy. Through this commitment, we are providing concrete support to the burgeoning renewable energy market to encourage its growth and lessen our country's dependence on fossil fuels. This decision affects communities across the country and the world, and we are proud to be a part of this growing movement.
Helping Hands is a not-for-profit organization developed to help Coldwater Creek employees in times of financial crisis. Helping Hands is supported by donations from Coldwater Creek employees. Many employees contribute to Helping Hands by designating a specific amount to be deducted from their paycheck on an ongoing basis or by making a one-time donation. If a financial crisis occurs, Coldwater Creek employees may request assistance by completing an Employee Assistance Request Form. The Helping Hands Committee reviews each case confidentially to determine how the funds are distributed.
Following are examples of situations for which an employee may qualify for assistance:
- Medical emergencies
- Domestic emergencies, i.e. inability to pay for food or a utility bill, the need for emergency housing, etc.
- Assistance as a results of domestic violence or child abuse
- Eviction from one's home
- Financial support during a temporary or permanent disability
