Building integrity
Coldwater Creek has long focused on building a reputation of integrity and fair dealing in the retail industry. We consistently work to maintain and improve this reputation, as we consider it to be one of the most important assets an individual or company can possess. With that in mind, these attributes remain a keystone to our success going forward.

Our Code of Business Conduct applies to each and every employee, mandating that we do everything in our power to protect the Coldwater Creek reputation. It's a responsibility we willingly take to heart.

Taking an ethical approach to sourcing
In the Fall of 2004 our Chairman and Board of Directors gave the directive to create a comprehensive Social Compliance program for Coldwater Creek, Inc. The goal of the program was to ensure that our merchandise is being manufactured in facilities that are operating in conjunction with the Code of Conduct established by Coldwater Creek, Inc. and in conformity with the laws and regulations of the region and / or country of production.

Today the program encompasses all apparel vendors. We have identified approximately 310 factories located around the globe. Each factory is required to undergo an annual audit by an independent firm with the end result being a corrective action plan. The corrective action plan is then monitored by our Social Compliance team domiciled in our Hong Kong office.

Our production is primarily centered in China, Hong Kong, India, and Guatemala. We do have some domestic production, and a small volume of production in other areas such as Bangladesh, Vietnam and Cambodia.

To date we have not identified any critical violations of our Vendor Code of Conduct. We have had situations where we have terminated relationships with vendors due to a lack of interest in bringing their facilities into full compliance. The majority of our production facilities understand the importance of this initiative and are, in many cases, ahead of us in terms of developing acceptable operating standards.
